I bought the blue one and took it with me on our last trip. I never trust the hotel safes because someone there has to be able to get into it in case there's a accident or something else. Maybe I'm wrong and then they charge you to open it but now I don't care. I bought the Safego in blue and took it with me and hung it in the closet between clothes. My family didn't even notice it until the last day and I felt very confident leaving the room with the good jewelry I'd decided to bring along safely inside. It's a great idea. And I get why they don't make black because they want you to remember to get it if your leave it attached to a gate if you're at the beach or something but I think for continued home use, to blend into the depths of a closet, black would be best. I love mine, I'm going to buy them for other people as gifts.

I secured it to my beach cart and locked it whenever we were in the water or walking on the beach. The box is a good quality plastic and would take some effort to break open. Beats caring everything with me. Granted, a thief could take the whole cart or could probably break the box open with a hammer, but that would get someone's attention at most places.

Recently took this to Provincetown and I was 100% satisfied with how safe and how well 2 iPhones, 2 wallets and a pair of headphones fit. Kept our phones cool too since it wasn't in direct sun and sand free. This is possibly my favorite purchase of the last year. We have a beach condo and also often vacation in tropical locations. Every time we want to go on a walk along the beach without pockets or dunk into the surf or pool, I anxiously glance back at our pile of towels (in which we hide our phones and keys etc) to make sure everything is still there. Now we don't have to worry so much. On a recent vacation to Mexico, we used this safe every day. Threaded it through our beach bag and around the lounger or table legs and felt more secure leaving it. I'm sure someone could cut the cable if they had the right tool, but why bother when you can go to the next lounger more easily.
I should say it is much bigger than I anticipated. At first I was worried about getting it in my carry on but then just stuffed socks in there to maximize space. It can easily hold several smartphones and a wallet or two.

This is the excellent item, that saves me from the worry at the beach. I put inside our car keys, two iPhones, two pairs of eyeglasses, and still there is some room. I try to discreetly attach it to the beach chair and cover with the towel. You should argue that someone can take a chair and cut the cord later, but it will be too big hassle : ). What I want is to have (in addition to the lock box safe) an additional longer cord, so I could keep two chairs together, but this probably will make the item even more expensive. The lock works fine. I used it weekly for two months and it works like new. I set a new password using the enclosed instruction' it was very easy to do. I am very glad that I bought this model. There are a lot of the competitors on the market, but this safe is very light, sturdy, and can be used as temporary purse when we are going from the beach for a lunch. We have it in dark blue color which I like. If you need to keep your things at the beach relatively safe while you are going for a swim, then I highly recommend this lock box safe.
